Defendant was tried and convicted of rape in violation of sec. 944.01, Stats., and of armed robbery, sec. 943.32 (1) (b) and (2). After a plea of not guilty, a trial was had to the jury and judgment was entered on the verdict on March 4, 1966. The court ordered a presentence social, physical, and mental examination by the state department of public welfare pursuant to sec. 959.15. The department recommended that defendant receive specialized treatment for his mental aberrations and that the case be disposed of under sec. 959.15 (6).
